Otto Baby Feeder: Revolutionizing the Weaning Process

Introducing Otto the Octopus

Having three children, Eleonora Fois, the designer behind Otto Baby Feeder, understands the challenges of the weaning stage. Inspired by her background in physiology and nutrition, as well as a passion for food and healthy living, Fois created Otto the Octopus to meet the demands of weaning children and the busy lifestyles of parents. This innovative feeding system aims to save time and reduce stress for parents while ensuring their child has a fulfilling mealtime experience.

Otto the Octopus stands out as the first complete feeding system designed to accompany a child through all stages of weaning. Its unique octopus design appeals to toddlers, who enjoy the independence of being able to feed themselves when using a spoon becomes difficult. The versatility of Otto allows it to handle both fresh and cooked foods, as well as liquids. With a range of adjustable spouts that grow with the child's confidence in food textures, Otto is a game-changer in the world of baby feeders.

The baby feeder is made of durable plastic, produced to ISO9001 and food hygiene standards. Each Otto set includes a main chamber, a plunger set, one spout (additional spouts available for different stages of weaning), a masher, and a leak-proof cover for the spout. Designed for children aged 4 months and up, Otto the Octopus is microwave, dishwasher, and freezer-proof.

Measuring 200mm in length when fully assembled, with a diameter of 60mm for the food chamber, Otto Baby Feeder combines practicality and attractiveness to stimulate a child's desire to be fed. The design underwent rigorous testing and prototyping, involving parents with children between 4 months and 2 years, as well as consultations with health and nutrition professionals, including a dentist.

Recognized for its ingenuity and contribution to improving the quality of life for parents and children, Otto Baby Feeder was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Baby, Kids, and Children's Products category in 2018. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology.

With a patented design (Patent no. GB 2544298), Eleonora Fois has created a feeding system that revolutionizes the weaning process, making mealtime a stress-free and enjoyable experience for both parents and children.
